Proper Wine Storage
There are a few basic rules to follow here. Disregard
the old adage that all wines improve with age. Indeed, wine, even fine
wine, can spoil. Ever open a bottle and immediately notice the aroma
of vinegar? Follow these tips to keep your wines fresh.
- White wines will spoil more quickly than red wines. Many red wine
truly DO improve with age when stored properly.
- White wines may be stored and should always be served chilled.
- Red wines should be stored and served at a cool room temperature.
- Always store wines on their sides, never upright. The bottle should
also be rotated regularly.
